Quinta da Biaia is a family winery project that produces high quality wines full of ambition in the sub-region of Castelo Rodrigo, Beira Interior.

A century-old farm located between the slopes of Castelo Rodrigo, the Serra da Marofa and the Douro River.

With about 15 hectares of vineyards, this 30-hectare property faces a thousand-year-old fountain, popularly called "Fonte da Vila".

Another important difference between organic and non-organic wine is the accompaniment of the grapes throughout the viticultural year: it must be much more careful, continuous and preventive in nature.

With a dozen hectares of vineyards Quinta da Biaia is a project that focuses on respect for the environment and society in general, so from the grape to the bottle all production is organic, in a project led from the winery by the oenologist Luís Leocádio.

The vineyard, planted for several decades, gathers the characteristic grape varieties of this region. The altitude, the organic production, its territory steeped in history, as well as its proximity to the Douro River, give a unique profile to the wines of this property.

Organic production maximizes the conservation of the soil, improving its fertility in the long term and using it less intensively.

Fertilizers are kept to a minimum, using natural products to eradicate diseases and weeds, and the non-use of synthetic pesticides is crucial.

Organic wines are known for their lighter personality; the most defined way in which they assert their organoleptic qualities.
