Port wine
Port wine is a type of fortified, sweet red wine usually served as a dessert. It got its name because it was traditionally shipped from Porto in Portugal to England and then on to other countries. The word 'port' was the name given to wine exported from Portugal to Britain and other countries. Port is a type of fortified, sweet red wine usually served as a dessert.
The grapes and barrels for the Port wine are carefully selected in order to obtain, after a long maturation of 20 years, a good quality Tawny Port. Tawny Port has a deep brown color and a complex flavor of raisins, brown sugar, nuts, cocoa and wood.
Characteristic roasted nut influences develop into dried berries, plums, hazelnuts and toasted sandalwood. A powerful Tawny Port that pairs beautifully with aged cheddar and quince pasta (membrillo).
In 2021, Sibio 20 Year Old was awarded 92 points in a Wine Spectator evaluation.
