(CHF9.60 par 1 dl.)
90 Robert Parker -
This wine is protected by an anti-fraud system.
Brownish red color with nuances.
Clean perfume, intensity and showing some complexity, some tobacco and charcoal notes, this then adds a layer of acidity.
It's not particularly fleshy, but there are plenty of tannins.

"The 2015 Quinta do Fojo is a blend of typical grape varieties from vines planted in Cima Corgo in 1986, aged for 24 months in used French barrels. It is 14.7 percent alcohol. This first vintage has been seen at an earlier stage, but is now on the market. Despite its alcohol level, it seems very elegant. Increasingly, too, it seems pure and captivating. It doesn't seem to have much depth, but on the palate the fruit lingers with a touch of bitter chocolate. Stones, earth and minerals all seem to integrate. The structure is even better. If this was some sort of second label that was supposed to be easier to drink, it is a dismal failure. As a very nice second label, it's a great success. There have been 7,000 bottles produced, and we expect it to reach 30,000 eventually." Robert Parker - Mark Squires June 2019
