Description
Vinification:
Made exclusively from the estate's own vineyards, 4 hectares planted in 1986. Aged in large French oak "balseiros" for 19 months.
Grape varieties:
Mixed varieties, where the most planted variety is Tinta Roriz.
Wine for aging: 2019 - 2030
Ideal serving temperature:
It should be served at a temperature of 16ºC to 18ºC.
Food and wine pairing:
This wine is a fine accompaniment to red meats, roast beef and grilled meats.
" Quinta do Fojo 2015 is a blend of typical grape varieties from vines planted at Cima Corgo in 1986, aged for 24 months in used French barrels. It has an alcohol content of 14.7%. This first vintage has already been seen at an earlier stage, but is now on the market. Despite its alcohol content, it seems very elegant. Increasingly, too, it seems pure and captivating. It doesn't seem to have much depth, but on the palate, the fruit lingers with a touch of bitter chocolate. Stones, earth and minerals all seem to integrate. The structure is even better. If this was a sort of second label meant to be easier to drink, it's a dismal failure. As a beautiful second label, it's a great success.
